First installment of the Reds Opening Day binder. Simple concept. The starting nine on Opening Day, pitcher in the middle, catcher below, then going counterclockwise 1B, 2B, RF, CF, LF, SS, 3B. Brings me much satisfaction. If I can upgrade a card on accident, I will. But I don't try very hard. Did the NL adding the DH a few years ago ruin it? Kinda. DH gets the rear.
Posting this as I'm watching my Redlegs against the Sawx on this beautiful day.

Very cool idea. If I did something like this for the A's or Padres, I'd use the flagship design from that year. But with my luck, Topps would end up not making a card for one or two of the players.
ReplyDeleteOh it'll be worse than that. Our 2023 Opening Day 1B, Jason Vosler, who was only with us 20 games, doesn't even have a Reds card of any sort. And Our 1977 SP Woody Fryman only has an airbrushed '77 OPC short print. Never mind the players without a flagship.
DeleteNice mix of cards, I like that. Enjoy seeing Frankie Montas--I just was going through an eBay order and had a Heritage Minors card of him. He was the first player who I had a trifecta (auto, relic, rookie) of when he made his Mets debut. Of course his Mets tenure didn't exactly work out great.
