1909-1912 Sweet Caporal Domino Discs #46 Art Fromme

Bought this from the internet recently. These discs are just over an inch in diameter and originally had metal rims, though mine doesn't. I had never seen nor heard of these things, so naturally I had to own one immediately upon seeing it. Anything this small that has survived over a hundred years is pretty remarkable. Why are they called Domino Discs?

Dominoes on the back, of course. So you can play dominoes, I guess. The set is 129 cards, but each allegedly has three color choices and all the domino pairs, so good luck if you're a completist. As for Art Fromme, he played 10 years in the majors, half with Cincy, half with the Cardinals and Giants, winning 80 games. This is my second card of his, the first being a T206.

Go Reds.
