1952 Topps #179 Frank Smith

Another quick, one-card post today. This puts me one card away from the 1952 Topps low-number complete set, which has to be distinguished from the 1952 Topps high-numbers for gross financial reasons. Mr. Smith does not seem to thrilled to be on Topps premier flagship set. This would be a boring card if it weren't for the inexplicable highlighter-yellow background. Nevertheless, any 1952 get is a a success. For the record, Frank pitched 7 years in the majors, 6 for Cincy and 1 for St. Louis, with a career record of 35-33 in 7 starts and 166 relief appearances, a 3,81 ERA and 277 strikeouts.

Go Reds.
