Check Out My 'Check Out My Cards' Cards - Part 1/2

CHECK 'EM.

I went a different route with this order. My usual purchase is almost all vintage and autos. But I decided to load up on 40-50 cent modern cards this time. Anything that caught my fancy. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I haven't been to a card show in a long time and felt like digging. Or something. Let's roll.

2014 Bowman Chrome Fire Billy Hamilton. Yeah, these are ridiculous. I love it.

2014 Topps Stadium Club Future Stars Billy Hamilton. More Billy is good.

2014 Bowman Platinum Cutting Edge Stars Billy Hamilton. I guess people have fallen out of love with ol' Billy Boy. These inserts used to be dollars. DOLLARS I SAY.

2001 Bowman's Best Impact Players Austin Kearns, 2005 Donruss Studio Stars Austin Kearns. All the white you see on the Studio is the scanner lid since it's an acetate card. A note: I'd never seen either of these insert sets before, so I had to have them.

2000 Upper Deck Hot Properties Sean Casey, 2000 Skybox Metal Platinum Portraits Sean Casey. I bought these two because they are so hideous. The Metal barely looks better in hand than on the scan. And I hate nasty bubble gum pictures.

2011 In the Game Heroes and Prospects Autographs Yonder Alonso. Ok I had to buy at least one auto. It was one dollar and I had no autos of Yonder. Uh oh. Is that a little bit of the Reds' logo peeking out under his forearm? Somebody sue!

2014 Bowman Chrome Dualing Die Cuts Robert Stephenson/Some Non-Reds Guy. Die cutting is gettin' crazy, yo.

2011 Topps Marquee Joe Morgan. Just a sweet card. Nothing more. Morgan looks safe by a mile. Of course he is. He's Joe Morgan.

2014 Bowman Platinum Top Prospects Phil Ervin, 2013 Topps Archives Mini Tall Boys Rob Dibble. Dibs joins Davey Concepcion and Eric Davis in the Tall Boy collection.

2013 Topps Chrome Dynamic Die Cuts Jay Bruce, Johnny Cueto. Jay Bruce making a Jay Bruce face.

2013 Topps Spring Fever Joey Votto, 2012 Topps Gold Rush Jay Bruce. These were both wrapper redemption cards. So in order to get these you can either A) Rush to a retail store the morning The Flagship hits the shelves, bust some hanger boxes, and quickly mail in your wrappers, or B) wait 2-3 years and pick 'em up on COMC for 42 cents. I like B.

2001 Topps A Look Ahead Ken Griffey Jr., 2001 Fleer Ultra Decade of Dominance Ken Griffey Jr., 2001 Fleer Ultra Greatest Hits Ken Griffey Jr. Mmmmm. Griffey inserts. Is that a CD in a record sleeve? Weird.

Part 2 tomorrow. HEY!!!! IT'S OPENING DAY!!!!! GO F***ING REDS!!!!!
