Two Years + Mini Contest

Two year anniversary of Red Cardboard. Goodness me. I'm just glad there are a few people with so little to do during the day that they find themselves reading my rambling idiocy. I pretty much started writing this as a masturbatory gesture. But now I've accepting this communal way of life. Sometimes I neglect my research. Sometimes I neglect my home life. But I rarely neglect this stupid little blog. Way to prioritize, Matthew.

So I've decided to run a mini-contest in self-celebration. I say 'mini' because I've been very thorough at 1) Not bringing anything I don't collect into the home anymore and 2) Purging all things I have that I don't want.

One lucky wiener will be receiving my stray vintage doubles:

We've got some '75 Topps Minis, some Hostess, some TCMA, some Kellogg's, some Topps, a nice '55 Bowman. One pesky non-Reds card. Decent mix. Here's all you have to do to be in the drawing. Comment below who your favorite team is. Then say 'But the Reds are better so I want these cards.' If you're already a Reds fan, try to convince me we're not going 75-87 this year. Easy peasy.

I'll even throw in a random pile of non-Reds stuff that needs out of my home.

Good luck. Go Reds.

  2. I'm a Reds fan, and I want these cards. And of course we'll do better than 75 wins this year...WE GOT VOTTOMATIC BACK, BABY! With a healthy Votto and Bruce, and the addition of Byrd, and the greatest catcher since Johnny Bench behind the plate, and the best pitcher in the majors on the mound...HOW COULD WE LOSE? I'm predicting a 95-100 win season.

  5. Congratulations on the two-year mark and thanks for the contest. I'm a Brewers fan, so I'm pretty likely to send these cards to one of these other Reds fans commenting here!

  6. Congratulations on two years! Time really does fly... I'm a diehard Yankees fan, but I honestly don't think I could bring myself to say, "The Reds are better." Does that count? I hope it does...

  7. Congrats on two years! I'm a Cubs fan, but the Reds are better. (Granted, most teams have been better than the Cubs these past few years.)

  10. Definitely a Reds fan. Closer to or exceeding the .500 mark and a wildcard contender is my prediction for this year. I set my goals low in hopes of beating them.
I enjoy your sarcastic wit in most of your blog posts. Here's to many more years.

  14. Congratulations on two years. I enjoy your post. As a Reds fan, I think having Votto and Bruce healthy. Devin behind the plate, great defense. Pitching depth. Byrd in left. Put the Reds in the wild card hunt. 87 wins. Go Reds!
