I enjoy this set. I'm probably in the minority, but that just means I picked these up for mere pennies. Topps wanted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the original T206 set, and this is pretty much all they could do with it. I think the original design fits nicely on those old cards because it gives the cards a ghost-like feel, which works very well, considering they are from over a century ago. The design will not translate to modern players, who we can see 24/7 on all of our computin' devices. But it remains a nice homage, so I stand by my fandom.
And of course, Topps had to throw in 50 variations in addition to the 300 base cards, which is way too many. Fortunately, though, no Reds variations. Woot.
