Yesterday? Ugly. Today? Not So Much.

So firstly, I compel you to vote in the first group of the Ugstravaganza.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Since yesterday's post was filled with the bottom tier of Reds cardboard, we'll switch it up today, with some serious goodness. Reader Jeremy was one of the takers of my extraneous cardboard (see tab above). I had a mere pittance of Rays to send him, but he WAY overpaid the favor. So much goodness, in fact, that it's worthy of a two-parter. So many thanks Jeremy. Here goes.

We'll start strong with a 2014 Topps Green Shin-Soo Choo. Apparently, these greens are tough to come by. After Billy Hamilton's Opening Day "performance", man am I missing Choo in that 1-spot. Ah well. Sweet card.

Cueto refraction. 2008 Bowman Chrome Refractor, 2010 Topps Chrome Refractor. Cueto went 7 innings with 3 hits and 1 earned run in the loss. Ugh. These cards are my solace.

2003 Topps Chrome Refractor Elmer Dessens #'d/699, 2011 Bowman Chrome Prospects Refractor Cody Puckett #'d/799. Elmer is a nice throwback to the time when reftactors were actually rare, and numbered accordingly. And I guess Bowman decided to do the same for their Prospects set in 2011, though not the base set. Explains why my collection is light on these. Well it's 2 heavier now. Puckett is with the White Sox farm system now, by the way.

2011 Bowman Platinum Prospects X-fractor Yasmani Grandal, 2010 Topps National Chicle National Chicle Back Jay Bruce. I enjoy saying 'Natuonal Chicle National Chicle'.

2006 Topps Chrome Black Refractors Brandon Claussen #'d/549. Black refractors are sweet. This photo is sweet. The moderately small print run is sweet. So, um. Sweet.

The rest of the goodies will be up tomorrow, including a doozy. Go Reds.
