One and Done: 1991-1992

This is the fourteenth part of my running theme, unimaginatively dubbed 'One and Done'. Here, I focus on cards of Reds players who, whether it be their only year in the bigs or their only year with the club, found themselves on the Cincinnati roster for only one season, yet long enough to sneak onto a card donning the Cincinnati red. That was a very convoluted sentence that I am choosing not to edit.

Today we're looking at 1991-1992, the first two years after the upstart underdog Reds whooped the A's in the 1990 World Series. These two years saw 16 one-and-doners of which my collection houses 10 of them. Not too shabby.

Reggie Jefferson. 9 year career with 4 teams. Currently the hitting coach at USF.

With the Reds: 1991, 8 PA in 5 games, 1 hit, which was a home run, .143 BA.

Don Carman. 10 year career with 3 teams. Master of the sports cliche.

With the Reds: 1991, 36 IP in 28 games, 15 K's, 5.25 ERA, 0-2 record.

Carmelo Martinez. 9 year career with 6 teams. Cousin of Edgar Martinez.

With the Reds: 1991, 156 PA in 53 games, 6 HR, 19 RBI, .232 BA

Chris Jones. 9 year career with 8 teams (nice). Part of inaugural rosters of Rockies and Diamondbacks.

With the Reds: 1991, 92 PA in 52 games, 2 HR, 6 RBI, .292 BA.

Mo Sanford. 3 year career for 3 teams. Played in Taiwan and Mexico as well.

With the Reds: 1991, 28 IP in 5 starts, 31 K's, 3.86 ERA, 1-2 record.

Troy Afenir. 4 year career with 3 teams. Currently coaching at Palomar College.

With the Reds: 1992, 40 PA in 16 games, 4 RBI, .176 BA.

Geronimo Berroa. 11 year career with 9 teams (nice). 32 home runs in 1996.

With the Reds: 1992, 18 PA in 13 games, 1 2B, .267 BA.

Rick Wrona. 6 year career with 4 teams. Had 14 year minor league career.

With the Reds: 1992, 23 PA in 11 games, 4 hits, .174 BA.

Darnell Coles, 14 year career with 8 teams (nice). Currently a hitting coach for the Tigers.

With the Reds: 1992, 149 PA in 55 games, 3 HR, 18 RBI, .312 BA.

Scott Bankhead. 10 year career with 5 teams. Pitched on the '84 US Olympic team.

With the Reds: 1992, 70.2 IP in 54 games, 53 K's, 2.92 ERA,  10-4 record.
