Oh heck, why not? 1990 Donruss, baby! This set, to me, is among the top examples of the overproduction wax era. It's cheap. It's flimsy. It's got a bad design (monochromatic except for paint splatters). It's full of errors. It has questionable photographic choices. The Diamond Kings are hideous. So why do I love it enough to make a post? Because it holds a special place in my heart. The Odd Lots (which is what most Big Lots used to be called before they got all fancy) near me when I was 11 always had boxes and boxes of '90 Donruss for $5 each. And this was only two years after it was released. That's 36 packs of 16 cards (and a stupid puzzle piece) for a week's allowance. Crazy. You can't even get em that cheaply now. Naturally, I had 4 or 5 complete sets built.
So I will always love you, 1990 Donruss. Don't ever change.

You know, this set IS hideous. But if you photoshop the paint splatters out it's actually not half bad. Kinda like a red version of '91 Fleer with fancier script. Something I plan to post about someday (along with about a million other things...).
