Completely Red - 1989 Upper Deck

Ah, good ol' '89 Upper Deck. Pretty much smacked Topps, Fleer, and Donruss right in their stupid faces with this release. Super glossy, clear photography, solid card stock, cool design. It would be 3-4 years before those other three brands would gloss it up. The commons from this junk era set are still booking at a quarter, which is quite amazing, especially considering that a pile of '89 Donruss commons actually have negative value (when you consider the drops of gasoline used to transport them every time you move).

The Reds grace 33 of the 800 cards in the set, including 6 rookies and Dave Concepcion's final release from his playing days. Not bad. I particularly enjoy the Danny Jackson and the RC of my boy Chris Sabo.
