Emptying the Scan Folder

Got a few minutes between family cornhole tournaments (or the less-tawdry "bean bag toss" for you non midwesterners) so this is a perfect time to empty out the ol' scan folder for a menagerie of card goodness that hasn't/won't fit into a more formal post.

1969 Topps Deckle Edge Pete Rose. This and Tommy Helms are the two Reds from this set, and I had the Helms. So I can add another official team set to the books. Two of two, baby. It's off center, which is a shame, but this made it extra affordable. Vintage Rose is good Rose.

i
A couple autos to add to the binder. Gold glove winner Pokey Reese (1997 Donruss Signature Autographs) and Jesse Guitierrrez (hand signed 2005 Topps Chrome Refractor). Sweet.

2001 SP Authentic Chirography Dave Sardinha. This card made it into the Tourney at the last minute. While Sardinha wasn't exactly a star, I really think this is a slick looking card with a great signature.

1958 Topps Harvey Haddix RC. This puts me one card away from completing the 1958 Topps Reds team set (the team card/numerical checklist variation). Since I have the regular team card variation, some would say the team set is done. I can't bring myself to say it's complete, though.

1986 Topps Tattoos Sheet 6: Pete Rose, Ron Kittle, Bruce Botche, Sammy Khalifa, Scott McGregor, Mookie Wilson, Cecil Cooper, George Brett. Cooper and Brett extended beyond the scope of the scanner, and I wouldn't dare tear them off. I somehow doubt these tattoos would work too well, were I to moisten and affix to my biceps.

Nice additions. Go Reds.

  1. Nice Haddix! Harvey's one of my favorite guys to collect. The fact that his cards don't usually run too much certainly helps things.
