1909 T206 #145 - Tom Downey

A new tobacco card to add to the display shelf. Nabbed for cheap because the back is ugly, but who cares! Check out the front. NO. CREASES. And the corners ain't even that bad. Such great shape for anything vintage, much less a 206. It's even centered very nicely. Now, about Downey. Six years in the bigs. Three with Cincy. Perhaps his career would have lasted a bit longer if he didn't close his eyes when catching the ball, as is depicted here. And playing on a ball field on the surface of the sun probably led to a lot of fatigue. He has another T206 card of him batting. I will have it someday. Go Reds.
