PWE Bomb c/o The Diamond King

The Diamond King, who runs quite an excellent blog (Check it out. Right now. Read my nonsense later.), sent out some PWE gifts. Yours truly was among the recipients. His generosity, clearly, displays no bound. I will organize myself and return the favor, in due time (blogger time. which is to say, before one of us dies. maybe). He obviously knows I'm a Larkin man. Let's check out the newest cardboard children to enter my life, courtesy of The King...

1987 Donruss Opening Day. Starting off with a card on my Top 15 wanted list is not a bad beginning at all. This was the lone absentee Red from the set. And a rookie (well, not according to Beckett. But who cares what they say?). Most excellent. Next...

1997 EX-2000. This card has a transparent window, which looks surprisingly better in the scan than in real life. The peculiarity of this card is the back...

A reprint of the front image, with the jersey stitching photoshopped in reverse. So we have the ultra-rare lefty Larkin gracing the back. Weird. Also, the shopper thought it worth his effort to reverse the "11" on his wristband, but the Wilson "W" was just too much trouble. The rest of the Larkins...

1997 Collector's Choice Talk of the Town Insert, 1998 UD3, 2000 Topps All-Topps Insert. Excellent, excellent, and excellent. Generously enough, DK was not done yet...

Went ahead and chucked in an Aaron Boone Upper Deck Ballpark Idols Bronze, serial numbered out of a mere 100. Wow. Much more goodness than I expected. And a few more Larkins to add to the list, which is resting comfortably at 568. Gots ta love the baseball card blogging community. Hey Diamond King... Thanks buddy. And Go Reds.
