1968 Topps Game #30 - Pete Rose

I appreciate that this card is beat up. It means this card was used to play the game; its intent. I was so careful not to damage cards as a kid that I probably lost out on some of the fun. But this card is so creased, this game must have been played by some kid hundreds of times. Or he was just that bad of a shuffler. I'm tempted to drop a grand, get the entire 33 card set in mint condition, then sit at a table at a card show, shuffle them all, and challenge everyone to a game. We can gamble with our commons. Man, that would be great.

  1. I love beat up cards because they have a story.

  2. Totally agree. Plus waaaaaaay cheaper. I'll take 5 beat up cards over 1 clean one any day.
